Key Activities

1. Expanding and diversifying the skills training fields and the existing fields and the existing Addis Ababa and Butajira TDCs as well as establishing and running new TDCs in regions outside Addis Ababa,
1.1. Conducting Baseline survey in Oromiya and Amhara regional states for the expansion and diversification of new TDCS;
1.2. Establishing and running new TDCs in the forthcoming project years,
1.3. Organizing and conducting Vocational skills, Poultry Raising and cattle/sheep fattening training interventions in its catchments areas.
1.4. Distributing Start up Capital/initial working materials
- Distributing various kinds of support materials as start up capital for graduate trainees. (support materials to be distributed as start up capital are fiber and wooden products for brush making; sewing machines, threads and clothes for tailoring; mobile looms, cotton and woolen materials for weaving and carpet making; cotton mats for mop making and palm leaves for broom making; chicken houses, chickens, fodder, feeding and drinking utensils, and medical suppliers for poultry raising; cattle/sheep, fodder, feeding and drinking utensils and medical supplies for cattle/sheep fattening)

2. Ensuring the target groups financially sustainable be maximizing follow-up process Interventions
2.1.Establishing and coordinating follow-ups unit
2.2. Creating and increasing access to financial institutions for the blind and other
PwDs
- Conducting baseline surveys
- Deciding on funding and securing seed capital form donors,
- Developing guarantee system as required
- Creating agreement with licensed financial institutions to grant loan to target groups on behalf of SSBHA,
- Facilitating and materializing impact on target groups2.3. Providing counseling and marketing and related information services

2.4. Tracking and following up of ex-trainees trough periodic visits, collective discussions and awareness sessions as well as counseling contacts.
2.5. Monitoring and follow up of the target groups after the skills training and the handover of start up capital trough periodic visits, collective discussions and counseling contacts.
2.6. Organizing and conducting awareness interventions
2.7. Acquiring and distributing various means of physical and/or mobility aids /guide canes, crutches, wheelchairs and other physical aid materials through the purchase or donation.
2.8. Organizing and conducting brail literacy for adult blind people3. Promoting SSHBHA’s programs and services through advocacy, research and pubic relations Activities;
3.1. Developing public policy advocacy, research and PR works: Producing broachers ad      quarterly newsletters;
3.2. Developing right based mainstreaming and inclusion approaches:
 - Assessing local and international experience
 - Undertaking study on the issue/subjects
 - Broadening relationships with all stakeholders including networking and partnership    organizations
